hardened pushrods?

I keep hearing people saying that some lt1's came with hardened pushrods. If this is true...how can you tell if you have them, and would it be worth it to buy new ones when doing a cam swap? I only ask because of the GP...and if I don't need the pushrods, then i won't get them.

So it would pretty much be pointless for me to get another set of pushrods?

Hardened PR's are not desirable unless you are running guideplates. The hardening makes them somewhat more brittle. And at least in theory, more prone to frank breakage with secondary major engine damage if something goes wrong vs. just bending.
