Hard to start, everyone once in a while, won't start?
Hey guys!
My car take 4-5 seconds to start when its cold, usually. But, everyone once in a while, it just sits there and will tick when I try to turn her over. After acouple trys, it will all of a sudden start up fine. I checked the batt. connection, and it is solid. Cleaned it too! Anyone have any ideas?! Thanks guys!

Check your connections on your starter... Buy some electronic cleaner and just stick your head underneath the car and spray away.. hose it off and you should see a difference.. Just my .02.. Let me know how it works if you decide to do it.. I did it on mine and it fires right up..
If your car clicks, but never turns over sometimes, your getting power to the starter, just not enough.
Sometimes my car does this if I don't have the cables tight enough. Make sure your getting them on straight and tight. Make sure the connections are clean and rust/corrosion free. When you get them on, try to move the actual connector back and forth on the battery to make sure the connection is tight. If everything is tight and connection is good, try a new or proven battery. I don't trust these stupid autozone battery places. I took one there one time and they denounced anything was wrong with the battery. I went home and tried to pull the battery out, realizing the shop that worked on my wifes car had tightened it up so much it actually pulled the connector out of the battery casing and leaked all the battery acid and water out. Yep, battery tested fine

my car was doin the same thing...wouldnt start like 2 times last winter and then it was fine through the winter and then as soon as it got just a tid bit cold here in ohio it started clickin again and wouldnt start and then i noticed some acid in the garage and then i noticed acid runnin down the side of it...it was still showing a good charge but i said the h*ll with it and just replaced it...now it starts up no questions asked...never struggles...oh and before it was replaced i cleaned up the connections with some water/baking soda....just keep applying until the fizzing stops....good luck
