h/c + n2o stock bottom end LT1 with 141k miles.. dyno results

went back to Carolina AutoMasters today and let Jeff tune the car again...

the car is a 94z m6
it has 141k+ miles on it right now the rings are gone in it pretty much.. it smokes decently

Advanced Induction lt1 heads, Ai's "211" cam, untouched lt1 intake, 1.6 rr, 58tb, csi elec wp, etc etc

393.4rwhp 358.9rwtq - NA - cutouts closed
409.1rwhp 374.3rwtq - NA - cutouts open
483.1rwhp 521.9rwtq - 100shot - cutouts closed

got to think a friend, Justin for getting the n2o wired up for me & Jeff creech for the nice tuning & phil for the heads and cam

btw tried the 150 shot but quit the pull early because it was lean... stock fuel pump cant handle it

Impressive numbers, any details on the torque curve when NA? also how about a dyno graph? What was the power peak?

I'm looking in to the AI heads and possibly that cam, but need more info.

Thanks,
Chris

There a reason why you didnt port the intake?

I was wondering if it was worth the money to port match it to the heads??

Its awsome to see how much torque you gain from the nitrous.

LOL, you're spraying that poor thing? What'd it ever do to you?

Here's a video of the thing blowing smoke on the dyno.. same power, ~10,000 miles ago if i remember correctly:
http://www.advancedinduction.com/Dyn...utoutOpen.mpeg

EDIT: Better video, http://www.advancedinduction.com/Dyno/BrianSdyno.mpeg

Shows up fairly well in the video, but it was pretty rough, we needed gas masks.

Here are his older dyno sheets:

STD
SAE

Those #'s were through his full 3" catback.

As far as the cam, I won't give specs on my custom stuff. Most people who buy heads don't run my grinds anyway, as they just buy whatever I suggest however. The 211 is a bit of an amalgam of the 230/236 XE grind, and the venerable cc306. It isnt big or anything, most guys with it are running it with stock gears in daily drivers .

483.. LOL, I wonder how many times that 14X,000 mile LT1 will handle 560+hp? Do you intend to pick up a fuel pump and find out?

Good luck with it, Brian.

-Phil

As always nice job guys.

Can you give the full details of your exhaust system please. Dual cutouts right off the headers? What catback?
thanks.

94formulabz - hooker longtubes, mufflex ypipe with dual cutouts about 6 - 12 inches behind the collector, that goes into a B&B tri flow catback

skarodom(phil) - of course im gonna upgrade the fuel pump and see how many times it will take it ... but then i would upgrade to 150 jets

let me ask you somthing did it only smoke when you got on it. or did it smoke at start up too?

Cause mine smokes at start up, but dont seem to do it when I get on it. But im leading more towards a valve seal on mine. because i think they shop never replaced the valve seal when I bent my valve.

So puff out smoke when you first turned the key at start up?

So you gunna go with a 383 setup next , or just rebuild that one to like a 355 or somthing?

Yeah it was good to see you as always Brian! I thought we had the part throttle going like a stock cam car, but we'll get there.

Phil - yeah like that cam is something like a 230/236 or cc306. Heh, heh. It's a bit bigly of a custom grind for that. Witness the cam surge and idle quality issues. But with anything that good up top, it's going to have down low issues.

I've never, never seen a car pick up like yours did with the exhaust uncorked. And my ears are still ringing from the noise.

I wish we could have talked you into the 200 shot. The 150 was too lean and we didn't have the right jets to richen it up, but I did have 200 jets that would have been interesting to try. I think a new fuel pump, some new jets and we'll having some severe fun on the rollers, and you'll have everyone making excuses.

Drake, it's been great to see Eric's car doing so much better. Not quite there yet, but definately closer!

rage on,
-jeff
