guys who had problems with the icm overheating-come inside

anybody who had problems with the icm getting heat soaked and shutting down were there any other symptoms. because in my car the rpm gauge and the speedo go nuts every time it dies. now i crank it and the rpms go up to 6000 and its not turning over that fast and wont start any ideas

Did you use dielectric grease between the ICM and the heat sink? If you don't, the module will overheat and die.

This is per the instructions included with a new GM unit.

yes i used that but something is still wrong. i cant figure out why my rpms go up that high when it cranks over. would that be opti or icm?
