Guys running a McLeod street twin, What is up with balancing it????
Ok guys, I almost forgot about this thread. I wanted to post back and thank you all for your replies.
I was a little confused as to what to do about the balancing since I recieved mixed opinions from both vendors and board members. So, I called McCleod. They were very professional and gave me the part number of the assebly to use for my car (which was the same part number that all the vendors said I needed). They told me that it didn't need to be balanced. So, I installed it last weekend.
There was already a weight on the flywheel when I got it. I installed it just as the directions said and it works great. I haven't beat on it yet but I am sure I have had it over 3000 rpm's and it doesn't vibrate at all. It is taking some getting used to but I have put about 250 miles on it and only stalled twice. Slipping is a little tricky to do without any chatter, but I am sure it will get a little friendlier with some wear. I do agree that a lower gear would make it easier to drive but I am very pleased. Time for a rearend and tires.
Thanks again for the replies.
