It's a lift off. You remove all mounting brackets and hood latch. And then bolt on the Dzus fasteners. It's cool. 6-90 degree turns and then lift the whole thing off and out of the way. Much easier to work in the engine compartment.

They make a bolton version but it costs a lot more and is heavier.

People say the car looks MEAN. Too bad it's just the stock motor under there. Some day I'll do some motor mods.

Be prepared to pay a very high price for shipping. Since a hood is so big, they have to put it on a truck and charge freight upon delivery. It was $106 for my freight charge. And don't forget the Dzus fasteners which run about $50.

Also If you get the lift off, you have to trim it and cut holes for the Dzus fasteners. A dremel and a good cutoff wheel work best. Home Depot has the best pricing I could find on the dremel.

Amazingly enough I haven't been stopped yet. But I don't drive the car as often as I used to.

Oh and it comes gel coated black. You'll have to paint it if you don't want to run it with that color.

I cut the slot for mine to allow cool air to flow over the motor and cool the engine. I have heard of at least one person who setup the ram air function. I'll prolly not set it up that way since I'm saving for a built bottom end and a supercharger. My goal is 9's or better in this car. The SC will suck as much air as it needs so no need for ram air. It doesn't really do much anyway. I have a cold air setup that picks up air off the bottom of the car just in front of the left front tire right now and that is good enough.
