Guys help me with a quote please for car work~!!

I bought a used WS6 off ebay and the seller had like 500+ positive feedback. Well, with my luck no doubt the car showed up and has some major issues. Seller is willing to work with me and will be giving some $$$ back but I'm not sure how much.

Lemme try to explain the best I can about car.
1996 WS6 92k miles
supposedly in great condition, with only very minor scratches ie normal wear and tear. Car was supposed to be very strong and no mechanical problems were noted.

Now when car showed on truck I got to walk under it. I immediatly saw, emmissions have been stripped and there appears to be a "shell" of a cat in the intermediate pipe. The cat back is the poorest excuse for an exhaust that I have seen and looks like some rednecks first attempt at welding, which he obiously liked doing b/c there are welds every 12-14". SLP headers have capped EGR. EGR is deleted as is AIR off the car. There is a mess of wires on the front drivers side of motor that I don't know where they are supposed to hook up to???? Maybe air and egr systems I dunno. Steering is car is uber fuxor'd. I can move the wheel about 1-2 inches without affecting steering, it is that loose(not sure what that could be, I'm afraid to drive the car it's so loose). Car has very little power. I pulled #3,5,7 plugs and #3's gap was closed, the plug had been hit or something and it closed the gap. Even after fixing that power was still bad. Motor has low oil pressure, ie it's down near the caution, not in caution, but near it at idle when temp is warmed up. At cruise pressure seems ok about 1/4-1/2 of the gauge. I was looking at motor and saw a bolt hanging out of timing cover and one missing. I took off drivers valve cover and #5 cylinder either intake or exhaust valve spring retiainer is gouged in several spots.
Interior. Both door panels in lower part of door that cover speakers and have a little storage "shelf" down there are broken. Someone had glued the drivers side on which looks hideous, and the pass side is hanging off.
I talked with the manager of this wholesale group. He states he's going to research how much they got in the car and how much he estimates fixes will be. Of course I'm not sure exactely what's wrong with the car and I'm reluctant to take it to a mechanic and spend $$$ on this thing to be told who knows what which may or may not be right(mechanics around here aren't too bright about f-bodies and I don't trust them to know what they are talking about). I have a line on a crate motor for a good deal brand new never run except test firing at GM. I think I might buy the motor. I got LE heads to go on, and probably put in an 847 cam and Hooker LT's etc.. along with other bolt on's.
I bought the car to mod so the emissions stuff isn't a huge deal but I think that it should have been right at time of sale b/c there is no way in hell this thing would pass emmissions right now. Also, I think the motor maybe about dead given the lack of power, the low oil psi, and the wobble I feel(vibration). At the least the front part of motor needs to be taken down to the timing chain cover and that fixed b/c of oil leak there etc...

Also the power antenna has been borked and I need a new one of those.

What do you guys think about how much you think would be fair for me to ask or get from them $$$ wise. I'm not looking to hose them, but I don't wanna get hosed either. I payed $8,520 for this car and $825 to have it shipped to me under the assumption it was mechanically sound.

damn thats sounds bad, your best bet is to bring it to your mechanic i have him check it out and even though it might cost you a few bucks he can tell you for sure whats wrong with the car, sounds like a nightmare, then you can have whats wrong with it in writting to show the seller

yeah that's probably true. I don't really have an official mechanic though. I do have a cop that I know who does some hi=perf work for me but he works on the side and it's like a 2-3 week wait to get into him

I don't know what the rest of the car looks like, but i would try to get my money back and look for another car. The car was not what they described so you shouldn't have to pay for it.

yeah to a point it's as is, but what am I supposed to do when they basically misled condition of the car. I trusted their 500+ postive feedback only to be screwed.
I guess I will see how bad I'm gonna get it

take it to a mechanic as stated above, so everything is in writing. have the mechanic try to figure out exactly whats wrong, and estimate with labor parts , etc how much it will be to fix.tell the seller of your plan .i feel he should pay for whatever needs to be done to get the vehicle in a mechanicly sound condition as per the auction description, or if he will give you 2520 back then it will be an even 6 grand you paid for the car. that would be a fair price to me. good luck

Sorry this happened to you man, but what the hell were you thinking of buying a car without seeing it. How could you trust a stranger on ebay?

Cool

Check with your state and the state car were car was purchased from' Department of Consumer Affairs.

All states have laws governing used vehicles and implied warranties for first 30-60-90 days depending on locality.

Even cars sold as is where is are subject to these laws when purchased from a registered motor vehicle company.

The Department of Consumer Affairs will give you good advice or refer you to proper state agency for further action.

The emmissions deletion can be considered a serious offense if the car was sold by a broker who is a registered motor vehicle reseller.

Check it out, sometimes when you think you have no recourse because of terms of sale you'll find out there are laws on your side to protect you from getting screwed by what you describe.

Good Luck
