What speed do A4 cars go into 4th?
What speed do A4 cars go into 4th?
For some reason it seems like my RPM is high at 65mph (around 2500-3000) I should probly just listen for shifts but I always forget. Anyone know what speeds the gears change?

RPMs would be ~2750 if you were in 3rd gear at 65 mph. Sounds like you are not getting into overdrive. With light throttle, it should be easily in OD by that speed. Perhaps you should get your car scanned. You might have a tranny solenoid problem. Not all DTCs for the tranny cause the SES to illuminate. If it is shifting harder than normal, that would be an indicator of a problem as well.
The car im going to look at (again) today does the same thing. It'll run about 2500-3000 rpm between 65-75 at no throttle. It doesnt seem to want to go into OD. How expensive are transmission solenoid problems to fix?
Not trying to hijack the tread, but I have a 3-4 upshift problem. Long story short, I changed the 3-4 upshift solenoid, fixed the problem for about a week. I've had this problem for over a year w/out it getting worse, so I figured it wasn't the clutches. What would cause this, solenoid only work for a week than problems came back?
