Guideplate wear. Replace?

Aquired these heads from Jason Short. The guideplates seem to be worn on all the intake sides. Replace? Thanx

Those look like the GMPP plates? Rumor has it that some of them are not hardened. A small amount of rubbing is acceptable, but gouging into the guideplate is not. I'd try the hardened Trick Flow plates 30400623-8. Also, when you install them make sure you center them over the rocker studs before tightening them down. This will help keep the geometry in alignment.

Deffiently replace them with new better trickflows. Dont wanna have to replace something more costly down the road.

I just switched from GM guideplates to the Trickflow plates. I had 3 of the GM plates that looked EXACTLY like your picture.

Happened to mine too. The next set of GM plates I got I hardened myself and not a spec of wear.

I used the Trickflow chrome-moly pushrods. A wise investment.

I hope these are hardened because I just ordered them yesterday and it doesn't say they are hardened anywhere. I'll look them up on trickflows website.

You're going to change the oil, right? That metal had to go somewhere....
