guide plates/sa 1.6 RR's
Hey guys any harm in using guide plates with 1.6 pro comp RR's, got hardened pushrods. Don't feel good about the roller end of rockers, roller is smooth only the ends of rocker with the little **** (haha) beside roller align it, looks too wide to me. I bought these on site to be SA, but the ends don't look like the Crane golds I have, they have flanges on rollers to align. Are these the corect ones. Danny Mc

You probably have SA rockers. Not advisable to use guide plates. Essentially you would wind up with (2) different methods of keeping the rollers on the stems---and one would be fighting the other. Choose one or the other. I have SA rrs and am thus far satisfied, however if I was going bigger on the cam than my baby 227, I'd opt for NSAs.
For that matter if I was really going to go big, I opt for shaft-mounted rockers with light-weight retainers, etc.---to maximize control of the train for high rpms.JMHO
