all i need for this swap is the cam, springs, retainers, and locks correct? The rest isnt a MUST have right??

no no tmust haves, but they are good to haves. I would jsut buy the hotcam kit. Used you can find them for like 400ish like I did and the guy even included a newer set of lifters and hardened pushrods. While you have the car torn down that far might as well replace things so that you dont ahve to do it again later and respend money and time.

i know abotu being on a budget as I am a college student and my camaro is my daily driver. But if you are going ot do the Hotcam, the best buck is the whole kit. Add a set of hardened pushrods, timing set (dont have to go all out stock replacement would be better than one that is stretched form 100k of driving), a set of lifters, and a high volume oil pump.

ahh well then what you listed will probibly be good. the 1.6 RRs make a huge difference form what i hear thou.

i would buy that if i had the money for it but i only have the money for the cam and the springs retainers and locks i will deff change the RR's later on down the road
