Guestion about balancing my engine

Question Guestion about balancing my engine

ive got a 94 z28 just had the engine rebuild. it now has srp 2 valve relief pistons that are 30 over and eagle i beam rods with total seal rings. and the crank turned 20/20. ok heres the question ...the machine shop that done the work dint balace my motor ..they said i dint tell them to ..do i need to be worried about if messing up or should my parts that i used for the rebuild be close to stock balance ? the motor has a cc306 cam and c/r of about 11.5 or more .... its not a race car but i do want to run it hard when i need to take out that mustang thats talkin **** ...lol...it will (maybe if the engines ok) see nitrous...thanks

Oh boy...I don't even know where to start.

If you want the motor to last, it needs to be balanced.

when you take it back apart to have it balanced you should take it to a different shop that knows what they are doing

ya i agree 100 % but its already in and its running very strong for now , its took me almost a year to get this thing going i dont have the time or money to have it redone ....ticking time bomb ...just my luck

Please!

I cannot believe that the shop did not inform you that balancing was necessary when changing all those components. Sounds like some cob-it-together hack shop that you should never go back to.

trust me i wont be back.im gonna call them tomorro and let them no that they wont get away with doin me like that i will ruin theyre buisness ...just hope it holds together till winter time

no just my buisness and all my friends , which is a lot of ppl ....it may be ok for a while im just gonna wait and see what happends

Does it shake or vibrate noticeably?

the vibration is noticable but its not that bad , and if i were to try a balancer which one would be best?

An aftermarket balancer won't really help all that much at this point.

if it has a noticeable vibration, a balancer isnt gonna help..

you really need to tear it apart and get the crankshaft balanced..

an unbalanced engine puts a lot of unneeded force on bearings.. not to mention it can prematurely wear about every component in an engine...
