guess my HP numbers...
guess my HP numbers...
I'm close to a dyno sesion here finally. The car is 90% or better now as far as the complete project goes. Wheels are back on and the car is back on the floor. Just need to bleed the brakes and figure out a communication problem. (I lose comunication thru auto tap once I start the car but have it when engine off key on)
Heres the run down:
-4 bolt vette block, fresh 355 with everything new. Short block built Scott Woodington, Engine Specialties in Delran NJ.
-Forged Eagle light weight crank, internal balance
-Forged 6" Eagle H-beam rods
-Forged JE domed pistons
-Crane bronze oil pump drive gear
-ARP drive
-Melling M155 pump
-Canton 3/4" pick up
-Canton 242T pan
-Zero balanced TCI flexplate
-ATI superdamper
-Cloyes double roller
-TFS heads built by TEA.
-220cc CNC
-2.08/1.60 Ferra valves
-63cc chanmers
-flowed 317 cfm at .700 on TEA's bench
-big springs 1.550 set up 225 on the seat and I think 600 open
-Felpro .039 head gaskets
-Static compression comes in at 12.4:1, DCR in at 8.95
-Jessel shaft mount SS series 1.6 rockers
-Manton 3/8" 5 series PR
-Custom grind solid roller from Cam Motion: 263/270 .686"/.674" 112lsa
-Genuine GM LT4 intake ported by me. Milled to get perfect runner alignment using a GM 7777 race gasket.
-Lucas 42lb injectors
-Holley 58mm TB
-Mezerie EWP
-Hooker 1-3/4" LT's
-Mufflex Y and Flowmaster 3" catback (Tempoary exhaust set up, will eventually be just dumped before the axle with some bullets)
-NGK TR55's indexed so they wont hit the piston's
-MSD 6AL and stock coil
Now a bit about the car:
-CPT race built 4L60E and a Yank ST4000 converter
-Spohn K member
-Madman solid motor mounts
-low mount alt
-10 bolt with 4.10's and a stock LS1 3" aluminum shaft (tempoary) 12 bolt just needs gears and to be built but I dont know what ratio gears to get yet.
-Spohn tq arm, rod ends front and rear loops
-stock springs/shocks up front
-CE adjustable rear shocks/stock springs
The car has been stripped of anything not needed for the track. Wiring included so its should be pretty light. But I didnt feel the need to make it look like a race car too much and it still has all the stock interior panels. 1 Summit race seat and a custom 8pt cromoly bar. Grant wheel, relocated battery out back.
I finally have the car running and its nasty... Idles at 1200 now and it idles fairly well. I was supprised honestly since it barely make 10" vacum there. But it runs so I wont complain. Stock ECM so it should only turn 7000.
This has been a 2 year project now and I am finaly starting to feel like I have gotten somewhere. I have a few more minor parts to be installed and finish up some wiring in the car. I ditched all the stock guages and converted the guage cluster to all Autometer guages. Looks good. Here are a couple of pics of the progress so far. I hope to have it on a dyno for some tuning sesions in the next month or so. Dont mind the mess, Like I said this has been a 2 year project and I am still "in progress"

Looking for 450RWHP NA. I built the motor with an ocasional 200 shot in mind. But that will have to wait for next year... Hoping to see some low 11's high 10's on motor if I can get it to hook and not break anything

Keep your eyes open for a used one.......that will really wake it up
Dont worry about the dyno numbers. You will have enough power to go 10s on the motor if it hooks. My car only put down 405 on Ed Wrights dyno, but it went 11.01 on pump gas. If I bumped up the timing and added some race fuel I woulda went 10s.
