Dyno numbers next weekend...

Well, the track rental day was rained out so I didnt do anything to the car that day.

But I did manage to get a dyno session set up for the 25th. We will tune the car then and hopefully I will have some good numbers to report.

start the guessing game!!!!

355 LT4, forged Eagle crank and 6" H beams. JE domes nitrous pistons 12.5:1 static comp. 263/270 .686/.674 112 SR cam, 8.9 dynamic compression. TFS heads done by TEA 220cc's, flowed 317cfm, Jessel shaft mounts. Hooker LT's, EWP, Lucas 42 lb injectors. 4L60E built by CPT, 4000 Yank ST converter. Dennys NR driveshaft, Moser 12 bolt, 4.30's on a spool.

I go first... 438 rwhp. My car never dynoed very well. Even though everything is new I think the converter will eat up a bunch of the number.

Should be good for some low 11's high 10's. I hope.

I'll guess at 421rwhp unlocked and 435rwhp locked up. Should pull all the way to 7k. That combo should go easy high 10's NA. My best rwhp was 383rwhp and I went 11.4's with a nitrous verter.

360HP, no wait that's me. I guess 399hp on yours. I think you should go low 11's and may break into the 10's in good air.

yeah I am actually thinking I may be guessing low. There are a few other guys on the board who have similar combos with less cyl head and less cam and they made way over 450. Dont know the dynos they ran on though. They did have different converters also... The car doesnt weigh a bunch either. I would guess its will be in the 3200 range with me in it.

If I guessed on my gears right it should go 10's. I might have to swap to a 28" tire over the old 27's on it now. But I figured I would try it first then see what it needs.

Jim, honestly if the heads and intake dont hold it back I think the cam would pull well over 8000 if I let it. Stock PCM limits me to 7k and forces me to be a little easier on it ya know...

ouch... 415 will have me a bit concerned honestly. I am guessing lower than 450 but hoping to see over the 450. I romped on it out in the street a bit last weekend, oh its fast... I kinda scared myself. I could not imagine a 150-200 hp shot of N2O on top of it.

Another guy here with almost an exact combo as mine with AI 200 heads dynoed 48x. But it was a different converter and I am pretty sure it was locked to get those #'s.

brian we know the converter/rear is going to kill the dyno numbers, it will take a while to get the e.t. and 60' down....so this leads me to, what mph are you looking for? I guess 125-130?

yup... all along the goal was to go 125-130 mph. Honestly I think it will probably be more to the 125 side.

again I still have the 27" Hoosiers on it. Probably going to need to go 28". But I figured I should just try it with what I have for now. I can always go up.

Do yourself a favor and go right to a 29" tall tire. If you're going to be spraying it, you'll want the extra tire.

How much does the car weigh?

thats kind of why I decided to just dyno this thing with the 27's. I can guage what I will need.

will 29" tall tires fit in the stock wheel well? I was under the impression that they would only fit with major cutting.

I plan on spraying it some day... when that day will come is a big unknown.

Not sure what it weighs. I figure it was 3400 or so before I took it off the track and I have done some cutting of weight but added some heavy items like the 12 bolt. I think its in the 3200+ range with me.
