If the 2nd fan isn't starting, it could be because it really doesn't need to... i.e., your car isn't really overheating and the gauge you are looking at is bad

Nope. I just said I checked the wiring, and I checked the relay box. No power getting to it... I ran my car to 240+, if that isn't hot enough to turn the fan on, then why did they even put it on the car?

And I didn't say this in my last post, but then again, I didn't think it was neccessary. My car smokes, steams, burns the material on the underside of the hood. My gauge is working right.

Turn your AC on and check your secondary fan again if it isn't powered than you have a power problem.

Many Junior Member's have had no experiance and some have no mechanical aptitude. I don't think anyone is calling you an idiot, but don't expect them to think your a genius either.

I know, I know. I don't have much experience with cars, but when I've made it clear what I've done, and what I want to do, someone always has to give me their 2 cents about what I need to go back and do again, or asking if I put it on there wrong..

But yeah, I did that already. Turned the AC on and checked it all already. It still doesn't come on. I know I have a power problem. But thanks for the suggestion.

Anyway, I'm just gonna go splice it up. If it burns up more, screw it. I should never have bought this car anyway, I should have just kept my 93 z28. And I really don't mean to sound rude, or whatever. I'm just a little aggravated that I've clarified what I've done, and I always get the reply "you're a junior member, you're stupid! Do it again my way!" Or that I'm wrong or that I'm missing something I've already said I've done. Thanks again for all who replied with helpful suggestions.

Sounds like your just pissed right now?
This is a very difficult media for this type of activity. What sound clear to you may come across as less than intelligent others.
I believe everyone that posted is genuinely trying to help.

Take it one step at a time, keep at it, and good luck!

My point was that if the gauge was bad the actual temperature may not be going up high enough to turn the fan on. The relay would still be good as would the wiring but the fan wouldn't run because it didn't need to.

Yeah, well, that helps. Steam, smoke, and burning insulation might mean it is a real condition and the gauge is good

Don't take people asking about simple stuff the wrong way. If you want to troubleshoot a problem you start from step #1. Even if they seem like stupid simple basics. IMO 70+% of all problems (automotive, computer, plumbing, electonics and so on) are caused by one of the basics being FUBAR. These "Dummy Checks" are not a barb against you or anyone else, just a good way to make sure you get the problem solved.

No one knows everything, and everyone makes mistakes.

EDIT: And lots of folks don't read the threads thuroughly -- especially me

But I already said in my posts that I checked most of everything, and everyone kept coming behind me telling me to do it again. And besides, I ran my wires, and hooked up the 2nd fan, and now the car runs great. Thanks anyway.
