Is the ground clearnace with Jet Hot LTs really that bad?

It seems like everyone who says ground clearance isn't too bad is still at stock height. I would much rather springs than LTs. Does anyone run LTs on lowered cars? And I'm not talking rediculusly low but maybe 1 1/2 inches lower than stock.
