I installed my headers and ORY pipe and I assure you that there are NO clearance problems. The driver side one fits perfectly and there is about 1/2"-3/4" of room. Also, the passenger side is good as well.

When I turn, gas it at low RPMS, or go over entrance ramps to parking lots, there are groaning noises.

I think it might be that the headers are slipping slightly in the Y-pipe...
But I assure you that the C-clamps supplied ARE holding the headers in place AND that they are properly tightened.

Anyone have this problem (or know what the hell I am talking about) and how did you fix it??

EDIT: The noises are coming from the Y-pipe area where they connect with the headers. The outlet of the Y-pipe is welded to the spot where it meats my "y-pipe back" exhaust system.

 

I would get under there and to a good inspection looking for fresh wear marks. There are alot of places that the exhaust can catch causing noises ie: torque arm, floorboard, k-member,brake/fuel lines, tunnel brace, ect.

 

Clearance isn't the issue.

Believe me.

They are groaning because they are slipping inside the y pipe, but those exhaust clamps are cinched down pretty damn hard.

Any ways to remedy this? Welding them wouldn't be too keen of an idea because then if I have to take them off, the ENTIRE exhaust system (headers to the tips) are all one piece.

 

Did you put antiseeze on all the slip fit joints? I did when I assembled that way when I take my exhaust off ( It seems like its always in the way of something ) it comes right off. I have never had any noise issues with them at all. Just something to think about. Instead of "creaking" they would be silent?

No, but that woudl be a good idea. Guys, there isnt a leak here. It is just a metallic bending/slipping noise. ANd believe me, those C-clamps are cinched.

I am giong to get some exhaust clamps and some anti-sieze.

Any vendors sell the clamps or anyone know the part number to order them??
