Got tuned - lost my lopey idle.

I really loved the lopey idle I used to have, but after the tune, it went away, it even sounds higher than it used to. When I got it tuned, the sheet said that the stock tach could be off by up to 300 rpm, so I picked 700rpm idle, even though it looked like before the tune it idle around 600rpm. If I changed it to 600 would it return back to the way it was? Or did I just sound lopey before because it was untuned?

I'll probably be doing this myself with a cable (not yet purchased) and tunercats or similar. I really miss it, can I get it back? And don't say get a bigger cam, can't afford that yet.

Stock timing back in the idle cells, put advance/retard back in the idle overspeed cells and drop the idle rpm a little. Should be back to running as ratty as it was before in no time.

I lowered my idle timing from 20 to 5 degrees to pass emissions (w/o a cat), and it made it louder and lopey sounding... then promptly put it back lol

It sounds like you got a good tune. I would leave it alone. If you wanted a choppy idle, you should have went with a bigger camshaft.

it IS a really good tune, I just want to see if it will be choppy again, if not, so be it. I'd like to experiment anyhow. i need that cable to be able to read codes and datalog too, I just got an SES that hasn't gone away, first time that's happened
