got tboned, fixed car, now it won't start HELP

ok i got t boned, we replaced the quarter panel, rocker panel and the door on the car. THe car ran up till i unhooked the battery about two weeks ago. Well we get the car ready to paint the jams on and I hook the battery up and go to start the car. It turns over but won't start. I pulled the fuel line off before the fuel filter and had my boss turn the ignition on to see if it was pumping fuel. No fuel came out of the line except for what was already in the line. I put fuel in the tank thinking it might be empty but still nothing. We thought that it might be something w/ the door latch and everything being unconnected and I plugged everything in that i could think of and still nothing. I checked the fuses and nothing looks blown. Is there a fuel pump relay somewhere that i'm not knowing about or is there something w/ this PassKey deal that i'm unaware of or what. I'm stumped. I'm painting the car tomorrow and going to finish assembling everything but as far as i know nothing is unhooked. HELP ASAP

Re: got tboned, fixed car, now it won't start HELP

Most cars now have an impact triggered shut off switch for the electric fuel pumps. My Mom's car ('91 Cutlass) got rear-ended and the car wouldn't start. Inside the trunk was a switch that had to be reset. She said the towtruck driver reset it for her. Funny, I have a Camaro but not sure where it would be. I've put a rear-mounted battery back there and a cut-off switch and don't remember seeing anything that might be this switch. Anybody else know where it might be? Could come in handy after a fender-bender.

It Would Help If U Posted The Year Make And Model Of Your Car.

My Camaro Did The Same Thing When It Got Repainted, It Sat For Along Time And The Fuel Pump Just Wouldn`t Prime The Car, I Used Some Starting Fluid, Actually I Had To Do It Like Three Times Until It Finally Stayed Running On It`s Own.

As U Can See In My Sig. My Car Is A 94 That I Replaced The Whole Interior Wiring Harness With A 1997, And Neither Of Them Had The Fuel Pump Cut Out Button, Or I Cant Spell It " Enurtia Switch "

Try Some Start Fluid, Bang On The Gas Tank While Someone Is Cycling The Key On And Off, Maybe That Will Work

Good Luck.

its a 94 trans am, i replaced the fuel pump relay thinking that might be it but still nothing...........i tried to start it w/ starting fluid but it starts and immediatly dies......i did this 3 or 4 times......the pump just isn't kicking on.....everything seems to be ok......why would the pump go out just from unhooking the batt. and letting it set?

use a multimeter to see if the fuel pump relay is energizing. also there may be a test lead under the hood that hook can put 12 volts to and it energizes the fuel pump. look for a purple or red wire, i think with one female terminal. it wont be plugged into anything. it is circuit 490. http://shbox.com/1/fuel_pump_prime.jpg

well if you put power to the pump, and it didnt come on it has to be bad. you should also test the ground wire comeing from the pump, but if thats ok, it HAS to be the pump. there wouldnt be a reason for it to not run after you unhooked the batt, just coincidence. Im a pont. tech, and Im pos. there's no inertia switch on fbody's like the mustangs have. I would test the power side of the conn. goin to the tank for power. it should have batt. power on the purple wire for 2 sec. after you turn the key on, and constant power while cranking. if you have no power there, then its poss. a pcm or the wiring between the pcm and the pump. if ther is power, and the pump isnt makin any press, the pump is bad. time for a walbro.
