Got an STP oil filter, but noticed it was shorter, any problem with this?

Got an STP oil filter, but noticed it was shorter, any problem with this?
My local autoparts place was out of all there filters for my car except for this STP. I got it and its shorter then the STP S30 I had on there. I went ahead and used it, but now that I am thinking about it, is that a bad idea? I run Mobil One BTW.

The Mobile 1 filters are smaller too now. All I was told is that is won't filter as high a volume of oil since it's smaller... Makes sense... but I just went ahead and got the K&N Gold. tsame design same quality.
