1996 LT1 M6 Camaro 120,000

Car is basically stock with a magnaflow catback and k@n intake.

Im in the process of doing a headgasket swap and wife just came upon some money, she really wants the car running, so my question to you is, should i hold of on buying an opti cause its not shot yet, or go ahead and purchase one cause i have the cash. I also figured i would get some brake pads and a water pump, anyone have any advice on what not to get or what to get with these few parts.

So do you want to do performance mods or just maintenance?

 

Maintenance, i figure i should get the car running sound if its possible before i go performance

 

How close are the opti, water pump, and pads to needing replacement? I'd take care of whatever needs the most attention first.

 

If it ain't broke don't fix it. This has rung true for me many times. I would do preventative maintenance on something that didn't need it and it bit me in the *** every time. Wear it out then replace it, unless you just like blowing your money on something that will never fail!!
