Got a quote on header install and camswap

I got a quote today to do a header swap with the ory and cutout plus a camswap and valve spring change for 1100 this is for labor only . I will supply them with gaskets and all parts needed. Do you think this is a fair price they do alot of impala ss lt1 motors so they know what they are doing. What do you guys think. If it wasnt so cold i would do it myself but my workspace is limited to the driveway. Cause my 69nova with a 434 sbc pumpgas car is in the garage until the spring.

I think that sounds really good actually.

Is it just a cam swap, or cam + rockers?

That sounds about right...... Talking with some of the shops where I live, it would cost around 500~700 dollars for just headers/exhaust installed.......

I agree, $1100 is a good deal provided they know LT1s and it sounds like they do.

that's not a bad price, but it's just a quote. I'm sure the bill will be a lot bigger when you go to pick it up.

Just keep in mind that a cam swap in this car is about as easy as it gets.

What part of the country are you from? Labor prices vary a lot from one area to another.

If you did the work yourself you could put down a little more and have heads to go with it!

That's about right on the low end, great price. I charged $1600 for the same plus programming for the mods, so it's about same as I charge. The plus would be it's an experienced LT1 shop(that makes a different).

pull valve covers, intake, pushrods, front timing cover and you're pretty much done.

U gotta move a lotta stuff outta the way but it's still extremely easy.
