Got to the dyno yesterday, Stock results!

247.0 rear wheel Horse at about 4700 and 277.6 foot pounds of torqe at 4700. are these results fairily repsectable? it suprised the person running the dyno he was guessing 200 at the rear wheels. he said i must have about 301 at the flywheel. i thought these cars were rated at 275?

anyway comments would be appreciated

275 for '93-'95.5, 285 for '95.5-'97.
But it's generally conceded that the stock F-body LT1 puts out the same HP as the stock 'vette LT1, i.e. 300 at the crank.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Sounds like you need a tune up. Mine dyno'd at 282/323 with pullies, K&N, and synthetic oils front to back. I would think a 6 speed should be at least 270?????

He took it up to 5500 but it just dropped off considerably after 4700
and i probably need a tune up because i havent done much to it latly except very regular oil changes

Probably a tune up issue.. could be the opti if the power was dropping off that quickly after 4700 and the numbers were that low..

What kind of a dyno was it? Mustang dyno or Dynojet? If it was a Mustang Dyno, this would explain the really low numbers.

How many miles on your motor maybe tired valve springs.

I have a 94 with 96k on it. I was wondering if I did. When I rev it to just about 6000 rpm and let off it backfires out the intake. The car seems like it should have more power.
