Red face Got all wet. How long does limp home mode last?

Long story short- drove through lots of rain, started sputtering, got the blinking SES light. Now it's just a solid SES light and I don't wanna be driving around puddles. How long should I let it dry out? What do I look for, spark plugs, wires, or what? I thought it was my tranny cuz it would like, hold 1st abnormally long.

I would say the opti, when I get mine wet I just keep driving hoping the warm engine will help it dry out. After about 5-10 minutes of missing and whatnot, it usually starts missing then all the sudden taking off. Eventually everything gets back to seminormal after 15 mins or so. But ever since I got the opti wet the first time it has never been the same, it misses when cold and occasionally does some funky stuff, I'm pretty sure its the opti anyway.

Guessing at why the SES is on is frustrating and futile. Invest in a scanner or get it scanned to see what is up.

Same thing Camaro37 said. It happens every time it rains here in Florida, last about 10 minutes. But now I have a rain car, my Talon.
