Good way to spend $5000
Well i was going to sell the Z and get a vette but figured i would just save myself a large car payment and finally do some motor work to the Z. What setups do you guys think would be good right around the $5000 range. and that's without labor. I may even spray it later on. looking for good head/cam setups. I don't know much about motors so gimme some direction. Would like to see 350+to the wheels if possible
get urself a set or lloyd elliot stage 2 heads and cam($2200) headers
($500) cat back exhaust ($500) good gaskets ($400) some drag radials ($500) and a custom tune with a nice air intake is wut i would do! you would put down over 400 plus easy to the wheels!

you wouldn't really have to do much motor work to put 350 to the wheels. But I'd say go with the basics first....it will make a big difference. Around a 2800-3000 stall, 3.73's, headers and exhaust, CAI, custom tune, some other small bolt ons....and if you wanted to spray it you could probably throw a 100 shot on without any problems...you'd have a couple thousand left over when you were done with all of this too. That's what I'm shooting for anyway. At least that's all I'll be doing this year. Next year will be the heads/cam/intake-manifold/rear end.
it's a 6spd guys and i already have all the bolt-ons w/4.10's, putting spec stage 2 clutch (goes in next week), rear girlde w/stud kit (don't plan on launching it on slicks so the 10bolt is fine for now), already has headers with full borla cat-back. THe only thing it doesnt have is internal motor work so i want a good heads/cam setup that will be good for nitrous a little later too. and i want a cam that performs but also has that healthy loap. Would even be willing to put an intake such as LT4 on it as well while the motor is out. Don't really have a specific amount in mind but right around the 5k range. What are some common head, cam, intake combos that have good performance #'s?
if you're looking for budget....just take your intake and your heads and get them ported and polished, get a valve job done to the heads and then maybe a CC305 cam and a bigger throttle body. with the money you have left over, you can throw forged internals into it and fortify the bottom end to make it a little safer for your nitrous.....you'll probably have enough left over for the nitrous kit and still be at or under the $5k mark.
