ATF may at one time have been full of detergents but is not today. If it fixed a sticky lifter almost any thin oil run as a flush probably would have done the same.
As far as the Frantz, I think bypass filters are great for highway cars that see LOTS of miles and little hard use, but for this application I would rather not diminish oil flow to engine vitals. It absolutely will keep oil clean as can be but you have to sacrifice a little pressurized flow through this filter and then it drips back into the motor no longer under pressure I think valvecovers are a common place to route it too, that oil is lubricating nothing on that trip through.
Mindgame, I agree that most of this is pointless as actual lubricant failures are extremely rare, people handing out info with no real knowledge behind it still irritates me though and this is a topic where a lot of that goes on.
