Gonna change plugs.. Any tips?

Im going to change my spark plugs for the first time. Actually, this is going to be the first time the car ever had them changed. It has the 10 year old plugs in it. My car has around 95k. Is their any tips for me? Are they gonna be stuck? My dad says he's worried about me stripping out the spark plug holes.. Is it that easy to strip out?

Thanks,

Rob

Good luck take your time and make sure you have plenty of time free the first time you do them. it gets easier every time you do it but it just takes time.

Long sleeve shirt for starters. plugs 1,3,4,5,6,8 you can do from up top, #7 from below and #2 you might want to take the alt off to make it easier.

You will be frustrated and pissed, so accept that before you begin. The more you stay relaxed the easier it gets and hands won't swell up much. Also, don't do it it the night before you need to drive to work. It's very dooable and paying someone to do it is like spending $ on an import.

Your going to have a great time with those

Im assuming this is on a stock manifold car?. Just like the above said take your time and make sure you have plenty of time on your hands. On the passenger side your going to want to take off the starter and depending on how skinny your hands are you'll probably get to all of them from the bottom. But if you have the money, get some headers and then change plugs. its alot easier once you have a decent set of hades on the car.

I was planning on getting headers this winter while its in storage. I should probably just wait.. The new problem would be getting the headers on... (rusty bolts on old manifolds )

I wish I waited to do my plugs when I did headers, but my car was running real bad and couldn't wait...I was pretty pissed once I got the manifolds off and saw how easy it would have been

Definitley wait for the headers and do it all in one effort. Trust me, it's a pain to do but like everyone else says, take your time and be prepared to get frustrated. But if you decide to go with a set of headers, your plug access could actually improve, I know with my Mac headers I now have awesome plug access. Goodluck!

Yeah, do plugs and wires along with your header install. Use Stage 8s and put anti sieze on them and the new plugs.
