GM847 valvetrain?
GM847 valvetrain?
Well I am going with the gm847 camshaft soon and I am a bit in the dark with what I should upgrade to go along with it. I know I need 1.6 rr's and some valve springs, but thats about it. I need to know which valve springs more specifically...I know I might not need to get hardened pushrods because I have been told 1994's came with them. Any advice would be nice.
Thanks,
Jacob

HARDENED PUSHRODS
My '94's "Hardened Pushrods" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...o/DSC02041.jpg
A good set of valve springs, like the Comp Duals. And you do not NEED 1.6rr's you can get whatever size you want, and can afford the valvetrain for.

Re: GM847 valvetrain?
Well I know I necessarily don't have to get some 1.6 rr's, but I'd like to get the most out of my cam. I know the 1.5 ratio would hold out some power I could gain. Anyways, I know that crane makes a certain dual valve spring. Anyone happen to know the exact name?

Re: GM847 valvetrain?
I have the 847 with Stock 95 pushrods for quite a while and no problems yet, get NSA rockers (I have the CAt 1.6's) and get the guide plates from Combination motorsports($12) You have to use longer studs for the guide plates so I would suggest getting the 7/16 since you have to change rockers and studs anyway. I used the Comp 987 Dual valve springs but I think you would be better off using the 918's they are a beehive single.
