Question GM Part Number : '95 LT1 ?

Could someone supply the part number for a complete LT1 1995 F-body engine?

Out of curiousity, besides the hardened pushrods what other differences are there between the 93-97 F-body LT1's?

Don't believe you can buy a complete engine. You can get a long block.

gmpartsdirect just for reference:
GM PART # 88894195
1 CORE CHARGE: $325.00
GM LIST: $8,174.65
OUR PRICE: $4,895.00

Thanks for the info guys.

Any idea where I can pick up a longblock for cheaper than $5k?

Also, why is the LT1 so much more expensive? I'm looking at longblock 350hp crate engines for $3k.

The LT1 really shouldnt be $5k, its just GM overcharging. You could get a good factory spec or much better built for less.

Those crate motors aren't LT1s. They're Gen I SBCs, very similar yet very different at the same time. Summit had 383 LT1s for about $5-6k but dont know if they still sell them or why anyone would buy them.

Buy a used LT1 instead. On ebay they have a bunch form junkyards going for 2-3k with transmissions. Or you could spend the extra and get an LS1 with tranny.

I'd rather not go with a 383 because I don't have the money or time to figure out what else I need to change as far as fuel delivery among other things.

I'm weary of picking a motor from the junkyard because I'm tired of dealing with engine problems and I have no guarantee the one I find won't have or develop issues soon.

Ideally, I'd be happy with an LT1 crate motor that is exactly like the one I have in my '95 right now. I think it's insane I can only find them for upwards of $5k after it's all said and done. I'm looking at crate motors with almost 400hp for thousands less. I'd pick up one of those but I have to deal with CA emissions.

I could buy a good block and an LT1 rebuild kit and go that route but I don't have the time to rebuild a motor. I'd take it to a shop but to be honest I don't trust many shops.

Maybe new LT1's at a reasonable price really are gone... What to do.....what to do?
