Gm 847 Questions

I'm thinking about either getting this or the 230/236, the 847 is alot more aggressive right, and you'll get alot better numbers out of it too correct? i'm most likely doing some lyod elliott port and polishing.
to anyone who has this cam, can it be an everyday driver?
i could be wrong, but i heard the 847 and 230/236 are fairly similar, but the 847 has a much higher lift, would that be too stressfull on the engine to be driven everyday?
w/ the 847, longtubes, and ported heads, what rwhp numbers could be expected?

thanks for any input
-Jason

are there any video/audio clips online, besides that red/white ragtop?

If it is going be a daily-driver, then go with the 230/236. For a daily driven car, I would gladly sacrifice some top-end power for a little more torque. Plus, I have heard at least one person with not-so-good vacuum with the GM847 cam on stock displacement. Good luck.

2003 and definately been the year of the GM847 cam LOL. And it had been around a long time before people started to take notice. I made 405rwhp with mildly ported heads and Altjar made 350+rwhp with stock heads. Its considerably bigger than the 230/236. It'll make more HP and more torque. And I don't mind it in my daily driver, although each person has their own limit as to whats streetable and whats not.

i was talking to loyd the other day when i was at his house dropping off a set of heads, and i let him look at a few spec sheets i had. and he liked the valve timing on the 847 on a 110 better than the usuall 112. but he did say he likes the cam for a of the self cam.
