Smile Glasspack?????

I got rid of the cat about three years ago, have been listening to the stock wanabe dual single rice sounding muffler ever since. So this morning I decide to experiment a little, off with the stock muffler, fire it up, way tooooo loud. Went to Schucks and bought a cheap glasspack, $22.00. Stuck it on and tried again, not bad, not to loud, kind of mello.
Off to Autozone for some clamps and pipe, 3 clamps a 90 degree elbo and a pipe extension. Total investment $35.00, about an hour putting it together. Test drive, sweet, no raspy tinny BS, none of the cheap sound like the stock muffler, load enough to make a statement. I resisted the urge to do this for a long time because there was so much bad press about glasspack mufflers. Who cares if it burns out in a year, cheap and easy to replace. To top it off I have already had somebody ask me what kind of catback I have because it sounds good.

My friend got glasspack mufflers for his '79 Mercury Marque. Definately changed the sound of that little 302. lol oh man that was such a pimp lookin grandma car. Big, blue, and had chrome 14" hubcaps and a $1000 system in it. Hahaha... But the glasspacks did their job, they sounded better after about 6 months IMO.

I put together my own dual exhaust and tried a couple of different mufflers and hated how they sounded. Picked up a couple of glasspacks and it sounds fine. plus you can`t beat the price.

I have no Idea, I just wanted an exhaust I could drop really quick when I went to the racetrack, and didn`t sound like crap on the street.

I run purple horny header mufflers (glasspacks) in a true dual configuration, sounds badass to me and it was cheap and easy to install. Pretty loud at WOT but otherwise not bad at all.
