ok my car seems to have a charging issue and its driving me insane because ill think i found the problem and then a week later its dead again...first i got a new battery...then the alternator power wire came loose...then it somehow got cut...and now it keeps dying on me....ill be driving then the battery guage will be getting down super low, and randomly when i floor it the battery guage will go back above the half point. it completely died on me last night the radio went out then the car shut off and then it wouldnt start...this morning i was going to jump it but it didnt need it so i drove it home and it died again in my garage, sorry so long any help greatly appreciated

 

Are all your battery cables in good shape? Is the battery marginal or bad? Whats the out put of your alternator while running?

How id you splice your wires back together?

 

i had my buddy who works at circuit city splice them so im hopin he did it right...what is the battery marginal and how do i test these things? the cables seem to be in good shape

 

Put a volt meter on your battery while the car is running, you should have about 14 volts. If not, you need an alternator.

 

ok this is still happening...i got the alternator off....went to 2 diff places and had it checked out, both places said it was good
