I have a bolt on car and the best it has run is a 13.85 on a 2.1 60'. The first time I went to the track I was on street tires and all I could do was a 14.6. The next week I slapped on some Nitto DRs and I was down to a 14.1. This year I am hoping to be in the mid 13s with a gear and much better driving. I know the car is capable of mid 13s, but my driving/shifting is the main problem and I know it. It isn't easy (atleast for me) to get a pretty good launch with my M6.

Keep practicing, trial and error until you find something that works. Maybe even keep a log of what you try to see what is working best, instead of trying to remember it all. Good luck!

All I can say is that yesterday was my first time on et streets at the track and . I've got no front sway bar and lca's and sfc's as my only real suspension mods. I had way too much pressure in the ets yesterday(20 lbs, damn cheap guage being off) and we have crappy track prep. People on nittos couldn't do much better than 2.0's-2.1's. My first run out, I pulled a 1.68 60ft. Backed it up with a 1.69 in the "slicker" lane. Get some lca's and et streets, really thats all u need for suspension with your mods.

BTW, I've got a 3000 2.5 str stall and 3.73's.

NO traction

I feel your pain man. Ive got a 2000 Z28 with all bolt ons and a 3500 stall. With no stall or nittos i ran a 13.05 at 106. And with the stall and the nittos all i could manage was a 12.92 at 107. My 60' foot times were 2.1 and 2.08 before the stall and tires, and friday they were 2.2 and 2.3. Of course that was spinning the tires about 20 to 25 foot down the track. O well i guess i need to practice my burnouts this week

I have a BMR adj. torque arm and all the other suspension stuff in my sig. i ran 2.0, 2.1 60' all day with crappy street tires. Do you have any suspension stuff done? Off topic i just put a 3200 stall in my car when i did the tranny it's a vigilante. Did you guys have any probs with the way the car shifted. I've been hearing things about a "stall wall" that pre 96 (obd1) cars won't work right with anything higher than a 2800. I mean it doens't seem to come down when it shifts....it shifts but then it only comes down to 4k i never paid attention before then but i know it came down a little farther. I hope LT1Edit will fix this
P.S. sorry to jack your thread.
That's one of the benefits you get from a stall converter. It keeps your car in it's powerband all the time. If it's only coming down a little in rpm every time it shifts that's what you want. The car stays up in the range where it makes power, instead of dropping below it. Trust me, you'd know if your car wasn't shifting right. Also, yes some people have problems with the car shifting if you go above 3000rpms on a converter, something that is easily fixed with a tune though. BTW I have a 3000rpm vigilante and had no problems.
