General question..

Probably a silly question, but I have a SB400 that I'm gonna bore and stroke to a 427 and instead of using the stock LT1 Intake and Opti, I was curious if anyone knew of an intake that'll use a distributor but is still FI.. I wanted to avoid going carburated if I could.

Confused... you are building a 427 using a Gen 1 SBC block???? What heads are you using?

TPIS makes an intake simular to the LT1 using a traditional SBC.
Also goto thirdgen.org and they have some people who have adapted LT1 intakes to traditional SBCs and use a traditional dist.

It was interesting because the LT1 heads fit identically with all the water jackets and bolt holes on the 72 SB400 block only thing they were missing was the steam holes, which can be easily remedied. Now maybe I'm missing something, but I also have some 72 impala 76cc Cast heads I just had rebuilt but I wasn't sure that the LT1 intake bolt pattern would line up with them and I was wanting to get rid of the Opti anyway ^-^

The difference is the crossover on the LT1s. The LT1 uses a crossover on the rear of the heads (small tube bolted to the back of each). the traditional crossed over through the intake in the front and also has the thermostat (as you probably know).
