gears

Guys, I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula A4 car. My car currently has 2.73 gears. I was wondering how much of an improvement it would make if I was to have 3.23 gears installed. How much of a difference is there in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. Can you feel the difference between the two. My list of mods are a hooker aerochamber muffler, carsound high flow cat, and the throttle body coolant bypass.

You will have some seat of the pant feel increase.
You will not affect your 1/4 mile times.
You will affect you amount of time you spend smiling though.

Go with 3.73's if you are going through the trouble of changing the gears.

hey man some people say 4.10s are to much but it dropped my car from a 9.35 to a 8.80 in the 1/8 with just a gear change but if you are going to do any highway driving 3.73 is the way to go. but i love my holeshot with the 4.10s and a drag radial

I'd say go with the 3.73s if you are going to take the time to swap out gears. 3.23 may not be a big enough jump and 4.10 may be too much. 3.73s are enough to give a good jump at the line and still be a good daily driver car.

Man, we've got the same car and gear ratio...I have driven LT1
F-bodies with 2.73 (mine), 3.23, & 3.73...I'm about to order my Strange 3.73 set today.
You'll love it.
