I am going to be taking off my heads this coming weekend and need to know what gaskets and bolts I should order before hand?


The only think I know for sure is the head gasket and head bolts need to be replaced. From what I know the car hasn't had anything decked and I don't plan on it unless the machine shop recommends it. I am just taking them off to get 3 header bolt holes fixed.


Part numbers and brands would be particularly helpful. I also ordered the factory service manuals to help me get the job done but if anybody has any advice that is welcome as well. Thanks.

Fel-Pro Head Gaskets part# 1074 x2
Fel-Pro Head Bolts part# ES72856 x2

Can get the both from autozone.

 

I don't need to get an intake manifold gasket?
I have heard a lot about ARP bolts, are there any advantages to those?
Didn't know fel-pro made bolts.

 

u need to remove the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold in order to remove the head

fel-pro sells stock replacement head bolts
arp bolts are much stronger

 

I used
ARP 12 pt Head bolts [ ARP-134-3701]
Felpro Intake gaskets [ FP-1284 ]
Cometic COM-5645-027 Head Gaskets [H1656027S]

However I have heard good things about MR Gasket 0.026" head gaskets [ MRG-5716 ]

 

one more thing...

best place to get a replacement Oxygen sensor for my 94 z28?

The cheapest one at autozone is 50$ which is a little steep.
