Well, at least you caught it in time to avoid the big mistake.

Although I have to admit, if you need to take out a loan to spend $700 on a set of heads for your car, I think you may have your financial priorities a little off..

But that's a thread for the lounge

I wish I saw this thread earlier. I won those heads as well 2 weeks ago but thought they looked fishy and tried calling the number he had listed but it was disconnected. So I sent ebay a message and him. He sent me another number which was in cali where the first number was in wisconsin. (I googled the area codes) So when I did get ahold of him he sounded very drugged up and was very confused. Heres about how our convo went

Me: Hey Im calling about the heads from ebay
Him: 2-3sec pause... Oh yeeeeahhh
Me: Are the valves stock or aftermarket
Him: ~5 sec pause... Yeah they are
Me: NO are they aftermarket.
Him: another pause... Yeah thats what the previous guy said.
Me: Were they ever flow checked.
Him: Huh.... long pause. Oh no they were never flowed
Me: If you don't have a flow sheet how do you know they flow 280cfm
Him: I never got any paper work from the guy I bought them from the guy.
Me: That doesn't answer my question.
Him: I can get paperwork on them.
Me: Nope sorry CLICK

He was just very weird and fake. Definatley don't send him money. Now after that I make sure not to bid on anything that doesn't have paypal. I know paypal isn't the greatest protection. BUt it is better than getting ripped off cuz you sent a crackhead a check for some heads he doesn't have.

WOW, I don't feel bad about this at all. Camaro Z28.com is awsome for reasons like this. I have to ask, did he leave you negitive feedback? That's my wife's biggest issue right now. It's her business account on Ebay that I purchased them. If I can clear that hurdle I'm home free, minus embarassment and $1.00 for the money order, and the cost of a stamp.

I learned a long time ago never to log onto EBay during a cocaine binge.

Nope no feedback whatso ever. And I was really surprised when I saw that the heads were relisted, B/c when i contacted ebay they said his account is suspended while they investigate and to not send payment until further notified. But I never heard back and then a week later I saw the heads were listed.

yeah man, I knew better but I relearned a lesson. I usually make well informed decissions, but on the impulse iI lost it for a moment and that's all it takes. He did call me last night and left a message, Dude this is not a scam, it is the real deal. I called back and got his voice mail and told him what I thought and what I knew. I haven't heard back from him yet and hope that I don't. I am definately just going to save for AI or LE.

He didn't sound like he was on a binge or anything. He did have a Wisconsin accent and was emphisizing "this is the real deal" he said that a couple of times. I may need to talk to you about his Ebay violation with your transaction, Just in case I have to get him Kicked off Ebay. My wife said if he gives us Negitive feedback and we call him out on another violation, He will most likely get kicked off Ebay and the negative feedback would be removed.

Thats fine. Pm works best for me. And the biggest thing that tipped me off was no paypal, and I saw his number so I figured I would call and try to get a feel for what was going on. Then I got the message saying the number has been disconnected and so I notified ebay of the "fake or changed number"
