gambled on heads

Ok, I've been wanting a good set of heads and cam for a long time(AI or LE) but can't afford it with all of the family stuff and getting approval from the BOSS(wife). So I kinda said screw it the other day and lost sanity for a moment on Ebay. I was looking for core's to avoid down time, when in a frennzy I seen fresh magnafluxed, sonic checked, ported and polished 195cc heads with comp 987 springs, keepers retainers shims, guideplates, 3 angle valve job 1.94 1.50 valves Flow about 265/180 cfm., with only about 1 minute to bid I was compulsed to do it and not think. I bid $711.00 and won. my wife was angry but I am tired of waiting. Maybe not the best heads but they should be better than my stockers. no actuall flow sheet avalible.I still need to choose a cam , Add 1.6 RR, 30lb Svo's, gaskets, PCMforless tune, timeing chain, and if needed upgrade to bee hives. I was hopeing for a custom grind cam to support my mods. My questions are, did I screwup by getting these heads, is my suporing mod list ok,(I have other stuff in my sig already installed) Is there a better sugestion in what direction I should go? worst case senario I will still have the stockers to send to AI at a later date. My car has only 41K, It is a weekend toy, It doesn't have to be the fastest, just faster than the car i'm lined up with. any suggetions or opinions are appreciated.

As long as they're in good condition...You have to be cautious buying parts like that from a private party and not thru a distributor or the company itself. Hope it works out for you though. I'd say you've got the mods needed to put some power to the wheels with heads and a cam, however what do you have for headers? didn't see anything in your signature.

Seller is, at best, ignorant.

I guess the buyer(me) wasn't that smart either. If I would have had more time to think it over i wouldn't have bid. I just hope that they are ok and flow better than the stock ones. I've looked at other port jobs for comparison and can't really tell anything by looking. I saw some Lingenfelter heads yesterday and thought they looked similar in the pictures. I guess that is why flow sheets are important. OH SH*t, I hope I did't completely waste my cash.

The very second you get these. Post up pictures and have them flow tested. Any discrepencies and you can get your money back. From the pictures we can tell you the springs weather or not they are stock. It looks to be like they are the stock retainers and locks.

I would retract the bid with ebay, and say you meant to put in 7.00 not 700! It might sound dirty, but he is playing dirty also.

at the bottom of the description states- this is relisted due to the previous bidder not paying for them, and that he purchased from a machine shop off of ebay. That to me says sh*t listing. I would either not pay if you didn't already and take the negative feedback/ then send negative to him and mutually withdrawl or file through paypal that they aren't as listed.

Very mild port work at best... look at the valve guide bosses. I would have them flowed, but I bet they are maybe a 240/175cfm type job. Definitely not going to see 400rwhp with ports like that.
