Funky knock problem.

Well i went out last night for a nice drive (beautful thunderstorm). Anyway right away my scanmaster pics up some knock retard, nothing outrageous just like in the .1 to .5 range. I seem to be haveing this false knock problem lately, i can useually get up to 10 points of KR. I tried 100 octane and i still got it so im assumeing its false. Well anyway after about 15-20 minutes of driveing i couldnt get any KR. I couldnt go on any WOT runs but i did give it enought for the scanmaster to record.

My question is, is this normal? I useually only drive it about 5-10 minutes to work evey day. I dont useually go on any long drives like this one. Would cold engines produce knock retard like this and does it useually take 15-20 mins to warm up the engine?

Im just trying to figure out where im getting the false KR. I have replace alot of stuff and none of it seems to help. I will be replaceing my knock sensor in a few weeks and hopefully that solves it.

But basically does anybody elses engine produce knock retard for the first few minutes of driveing.

Please help me find out where im getting these problems.

Re: Funky knock problem.

What exactly did it do for you? Did you notice less knock using some sort of data logging software? I wanted it to solve my problems but my car was showing the same amount of knock as before.
