Fuel pumps questions
Fuel pumps questions
Im no expert whatsoever on fuel related stuff, and I need some help with pumps. Ill be running probably 35#ers on the 383, maybe 30s if that will be enough. I have the stock pump in there still, should I just replace that with say a 255lph pump, or can I add a helper inline outside the tank.
There are lots of places that sell Walbro pumps that will work. I believe that the Racetronix kits are the best around. They have the Walbro pumps and come with everything needed to retain the stock fuel bucket without having to cut it up. They include the cement to have the buck seal correctly. There is also an option for a harness that goes directly to the alternator for slightly higher voltage at the pump. It's a time-consuming job so buy good stuff and it only hurts once. My $.02.
You probably won't need a different pump, unless something's failing on the stock one. I'd go ahead and assume it'll be fine - test the pressure once the engine's in, and see how it looks.

Sorry, I dont like convertibles, but its pretty tight otherwise, and I kinda have a thing for my car, want to keep it as long as the body stays in one piece, its kinda sentimental. So you are saying as long as there isnt anything wrong with the pump leave it until it breaks, it will handle 30/35 pounds no problem?
