Basic Pump Question about a noiseFuel Please help
I have a 94 T/A with 117000 miles on it oh yea it's a A4. When i bought it over the summer the fule pump and the fuel sending unit had to be changed. The fuel pump would make a noise everytime the car was running and it was very noticalbe....And pretty loud. So I picked up a fuel sending unit and pump off a board member from here and Finally got it intalled today. The car drives better if you ask me. The rpm goes smoothly at WOT. Before it use to jump....around... But the thing that concerns me a bit is that after i got home I parked the car. I shut the radio off...you can hear a very faint fuel pump noise. It that normal...or no...you kinda have to like put your head in the behind the driver seat and listen for it...then you'll hear a very faint noise...noticable...not by that much. I never had a F-body this is my first one. So you guys out there with a working fuel pump do you hear any faint noise while your car is started or no. But it was bothering me so I posted it up here and wanted to see what you guys think...thanx

I always listen closely for the pump to come on during the first couple seconds...some noise is normal...best bet is to try listening to a friends car if you need something to compare it to. I'm glad I can hear it though...let's me know it's working.

Re: Fuel Pump Question Please help
Yea when u put the key on the check I deff hear the pump after that when the car is started I basically have to listen for that sound...compred to my other one that went bad it's very low. I never had a properly working fuel pump in the car so I didn't have anything to compare to..but I shouldn't be concerned rite...
