Fuel Pump hooked up Incorrectly?

Before changing my pump, my old one was reading 20 psi in Run & Idle.

Now, with the new pump, I'm not even getting a reading in Run (a couple of times it did jump up to 20 + psi, and then went straight to 0 psi) and it's reading 30 psi at Idle. It's still kind of hard to start the car, but the car drives good and has power, but the readings aren't within limits.

So, I changed my Fuel Filter, thinking it might be clogged. I changed it last year, and i remembered that only some residue fuel came from the fuel line and filter. This time, there was a small but Constant stream coming from the fuel line that was coming from the gas tank (car was off, and pressure was relieved)......

I guessing that my buddy and I have the 2 hoses going to the fuel pump mixed up??? (Although he CLAIMS "they're in the right spot, i gaurantee you." lol) I'm not believing him....

Thanks

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator?

Re: Fuel Pump hooked up Incorrectly?

I haven't, but i'm going to go ahead and replace that anyway with a high performance regulator since i plan to put a supercharger or maybe even a blower kit on it......i'm researching right now as to which blower can fit, and fit to where i don't have to cut my hood. If not, i guess i'll get a supercharger or procharger.

Thanks, and i haven't gotten a chance to pull the fuel pump back out to swap the hoses going to it.....i really thinks that's my problem.
