Fuel Pressure Regulator on a 94 z28
Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator on a 94 z28
Yes I have replaced mine. They are kind of a pain, but not exactly hard. How do you know you need to replace yours? Did you smell/see gas in the vacuum line? (in the picture it is the small black line coming off the right side of the regulator)
If you know you need to replace it then here you go.

1: release pressure from gas tank by taking the cap off
2: I suggest having your car sit for a while so there is not any pressure in the lines, or you could push down on the shrader valve and let the gas out that way. Just make sure you have a rag to hold over it so gas doesn't go flying everywhere.
3: There is a small bolt in between the fuel feed and fuel return lines, on the left side of the regulator in the picture. I found it easier to loosen this, not take it off though.
4:There is a clip holding the fuel return line to the left side of the regulator. Slide that off
5: Pull the return line out, and catch any fuel that comes out.
6: Take off the vacuum line.
7: There is a small bolt right above the regulator in the middle, take that out.
8: Pull the regulator out. It goes towards the firewall at first, then it comes out completely.
9: For install, just reverse this process.
Hopes this helps!

The screw that holds the fuel pressure regulator on is a Torx-27.
The screw that holds the fuel lines in the bracket is a Torx as well (can't remember the size), and the head is pointing down, so its a bit of a pain to get to it.

Torx-27? mine was a torx 30. I guess they changed it for a 97 maybe.

think of a phillips head screwdriver it has like 4 kind of thick splines on it, well a torx is kinda like that only it has 5-6 thinner splines on it and the tip is flat.
