Question fuel pressure regulator

I have 30 lb injectors and 255 fuel pump with stock fuel pressure regulator. Do I need to get an aftermarket one? I can hear fuel pushing hard through injectors when I turn the key. Seems that board has nothing on fuel pressure regulators

I noticed when I installed an aftermarket pump (Paxton Kamikaze) that my fuel pressure went up. I'm not sure why. But I installed an aftermarket pressure regulator so I could adjust it back down to stock pressure. You may want to check your pressure if you feel it's too high.

what a timely question, i just bought a fuel pressure guage today... it hooks to the fuel line schrader valve near the FPR.

I think even though you could adjust your fuel pressure with an after market regulator,it stays like that for a while, then the pcm reajusts it.

Let me know terran2k if the fuel pressure regulator added any performance to your car? Which brad did you get? Notice any difference.

That's not correct. The PCM has no control over the fuel pressure, it controls the injectors. So if you want a specific fuel pressure (let's say the pressure the PCM is programmed to assume is in the system), an AFPR will do that. Now you can't assume the PCM won't adjust the injector pulse widths, which is the usual issue discussed, and probably the one you're thinking of.

He said he got a fuel pressure gauge, not a regulator... Exactly what you need, a guage on the schrader valve, will tell you what your pressure currently is.
