Fuel Pressure Drops to 0 at Key off

Start car and pressure is at 44, drops to 0 right away when turned off, about 1-2 seconds. Car runs fine once started.

Have had to prime the key a few times to get a quick start because it's not holding pressure. Thought it was the fuel pressure regulator and changed it....no difference.

Put in a new fuel pump..the old one had a hole in the fuel return straw flex tube on the top of the pump. I thought ok heres the problem.

Put a tester on and the damn thing still drops to 0 right away when keys turned off.

Not leaking fuel anywhere. I can start the car, shut it off, right away go press the schrader valve in and not a drop comes out.

Running out of ideas...help!

Thanks,
Shane

Injectors??? That's all I can think of. Could be a cause of hard starting as well...

The pin hole in the return straw I don't think was big enough for the pressure to drop to 0 right away, you'd think it would drop slowly. So I thought mabey it was the check valve in the old pump. Guess not.

How would the injector or injectors cause a rapid bleed off? How would I troubleshoot this?

Thanks for your reply!

To troubleshoot the injectors take off the fuel rail, leave injectors attached and turn the ignition switch to the on position. Check all the injectors and see if any are leaking. I wouldn't think it would cause a really rapid loss of pressure. I would think there's a leak somewhere...

I had the same problem with my fuel pump the hose going from the pump to the hard line was bleeding pressure cause it was loose.
I ended up pulling the pump 3 times to fix the problem.
I finally got some longer hose and double clamped it, its holding so far.
I would check the pump cause it sounds like your bleeding pressure back into the tank.
I could not find a fuel leak either cause it was in the tank.
May not be your problem but something to think about.
