Every now and then I smell a fuel oder when I'm driving my car, and sometimes when I just start the car up... I can smell it... it's ppretty strong sometimes... but then it goes away....
???? Idears????

 

It's somewhat normal to smell raw fuel on a cold start up. As for smelling it after a while it might be a gas cap not closed all the way. Another thing is a wet fuel canister.

 

First off, I wouldn't ever say that a "raw fuel smell" is normal under any circumstances. Perhaps if you consider "normal" being your car has something wrong with it.

There are many things that this could be. Since you say it is mostly on startup, I would initially guess leaking fuel injectors. Try a fuel pressure and fuel pressure leak down check. There are many other things that this could be... a detailed list of mods would be nice to go off of, as well as description of the car...
