Question Fuel Line Setup

I'm working on mt 3.4 -> LT1 swap and I've noticed an issue I'm going to run into. The 3.4 has two fuel feed lines and an evap line. The LT1 only has one feed line and an evap on the fuel rail. How do I make the 3.4 fuel system work? Do I have to pull the fuel tank and install a LT1 system? I've read some write ups on the swap and no one ever mentioned the fuel system. What gives?

Re: Fuel Line Setup

The LT1 has one feed, one return and one EVAP line. Are there two steel lines under the car, right where your feet would be on the floor? If so, then you have a feed and return line and if the plastic lines don't connect to the LT1 fuel rail, you can just pick up some new ones ($~18) from a dealer.

Re: Fuel Line Setup

I have three plastic lines on top of the wheel well on the driver side. Where does the evap line connect on the LT1?

Re: Fuel Line Setup

The Evap plastic line goes around the intake on the front side and then connects to the evap hose on the fuel line on the driver side of the intake, right around the middle.

Re: Fuel Line Setup

No offense, but u didn't research this swap well enough.

You will need an lt1 fuel upmp for your fuel tank, the tanks and the units are all teh same, but the pump is different, might be easier to jsut get the whole unit form a junkyard and swap it into your tank.

The lines ahve different connectors on the end up by the engine, so follow the lines down through the fender well til they meet the steel lines. When you get there, disconnect the rubber lines from the steel ones and replace the rubber ones with the ones that came with the lt1 or if you didn't get them with the lt1, then goto a junkyard and get those 3 lines.

When i was doing my swap, i just noted which lines went to which steel lines and matched them up with teh new v8 ones. It wont be hard at all to do and will save you some confusion

If you avhe any other questions about teh swap, ask me, as i've been through 2 now and have had to work out alot of small issues like this

Re: Fuel Line Setup

Actually, I did quite a bit of research on the swap. I know the fuel pumps are different (the V6 pump has less capacity), but I have read that they will still work. Thanks for your input.
