Fuel Injectors
Fuel Injectors
I just bought a 96 Z28 with a 6# suppercharger on it. I just bought a new throttle body that I am about to install and I was talking to someone about adding some performance fuel injectors and he said that I should be careful not to go too big with the supercharger. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I also looking for other areas that may help me run well. I already have a 6# powerdyne supercharger,MSD 6AL Box, LT4 Rooler Rockers, 373 gears, B&M shift module, SLP exhaust, Hypertech computer programer, and a 2800 stall.
Re: Fuel Injectors
How does your S/C kit add the extra fuel required by the S/C? Do you have an FMU, which raises fuel pressure in proportion to boost? Or is the PCM programmed to provide the extra fuel using the stock fuel pressure?
If the engine already has the S/C installed, how does it run? Do you have any evidence that it is running lean at max load/HP? If its not running lean, you may have the right size injectors. You could do a scan to see if they are closing in on 100% duty cycle, which would be an indication that a larger injector would help.
