Fuel injector size selection

I'm not sure about the extent of my future mods so I was wondering can you add larger fuel injectors than what you actually need? I will problably go with the LE2 head/cam package this spring and I will more than likely add NOS sometime down the road. I don't want to buy injectors twice.

42# injectors are very tunable, according to Jeff Creech of Carolina Auto Masters, and are good for 600 rwhp. I would recommend going this route. You will need to upgrade your fuel pump to get to this level though.

I believe the equation (and I might be wrong) to find the injector size needed for your desired HP is:

take HP X and multiply by .625, then divide by number of injectors (in our case 8).

To find how much HP a set of injectors at a flow rate will peak at reverse it. Take flow rate X, multiply by number of injectors and then divide by .625.
