fuel injection cleaners? what one do you guys use? and oil addatives?
Just looking on here to see what you guys use for a fuel injection cleaner for your LT1..since these I have head some cars really dont like that stuff..makes it run like crap for a day or so..or worse...the crap gets cleaned out but put somewhere else..but anyways just a simple question and do you follow the directions on the bottle or something else?
also Im at 94K should I be doing something else when I change my oil? I put in Valvoline Durablend since I bought it, no problem the car likes it I guess. should something go in also? Filter with a magnet? Somthing to make sure that things still run good even at the higher milage...just seeing what you guys with the higher milage do to keep your cars running good.

The fuel injector cleaner I like is from 3M. I use the type that does not require a regulator and it uses a hose to connect to the fuel rail. The engine runs entirely from the can for about 10 minutes and when it shuts off, it's clean. Since the hose and adapter cost about $100, it's admittedly not for everyone. The cleaner cost about $16 per can. Other than removing the fuel injectors and having them sonically cleaned, that is only other good method.
BTW do not use Seafoam unless you remove the cats and O2s. As far as oil, I use Amsoil. I sell it so the price is right. I get the filters from them as well. Be careful that if you switch to synthetic from conventional that the seals can take it. Many vehicles that are switched later in life leak with synthetic.

My friend is a mechanic and he told me the in tank additives are a waste of money the really are not that effective. They hook it up to some sort of a machine to clean the injectors i am assuming it is similar to the 3m method listed above

I don't use FI cleaner. If you use good fuel and a good fuel filter, that should be enough. If I feel they need to be cleaned, I remove them and have them put in a machine with a strong solvent designed for the purpose. Costs ~$50 set.

I use "Guaranteed to Pass Emmissions" It works. I think all it is is denatured alchol.
The best cleaner i use is Sea Foam. You use the brake booster line to suck it up into the intake and all through the cylinders. Use about a half a can. turn the car off and let it sit for 20-30 minutes then start it up and run the hell out of the car. There will be sooo much smoke. It soaks into the carbon, breaks it loose and burns it up in the cumbustion chamber. You can also add it in your oil about 500 miles before each change and you will be amazed the ammount of gunk it will clean up. It's petrol based and smells almost like diesel fuel. Works everytime. You can also add it to your gas for injector cleaner, but it will also clean out your gas tank and fuel lines so i reccomend running the above cleaner afterwards for the injectors and then replacing your fuel filter.
